Here is some tech that is good for car camping, pre-hiking, and – for some – even backpacking. First, an emergency radio powered by batteries, built-in solar panel, or hand crank, that features an NOAA weather band, adjustable flashlight, tube reading light, audio+visual distress signal, and a USB charger. Second, a DC inverter for AC or USB power / charging on your drive to the great outdoors.
