Doug, great job on your channel. I have been following it for awhile and find it extremely informative. My wife and I are planning on doing the Camino Norte in June. Currently, I hike with a Gregory Katmai 55. I am wondering your thoughts on if I can make this work, or if this is too big and should I get a smaller pack. I dont plan on bringing the kitchen sink, just the usually recommended gear for the Camino. Any input is appreciated. Thank you !! Steve

Thanks so much! I’d say a 55L is pretty big but not completely unreasonable. I can take a 40L backpacking for 4 days and you won’t need a shelter, cook system, etc. But I also know “luxury items” for albergues can be bulky because they’re not meant to be in a backpacker’s kit. Really your bag is the last decision to make – start with what you need to carry and then get the best pack for that gear. 🙂
